AMZ Rat VST plugin

The blue box in the image above is a beta version of a VST plugin that I developed, which is a model of the signal path of the Proco Rat distortion pedal.

There is no skin on the plugin yet, so it’s ugly but it works. The free LeCab plugin is a guitar cabinet simulator and I have it on the default setting. A free Kjaerhus chorus plugin is also used to give the guitar signal some stereo spread.

If you want to hear how it sounds, download the audio file from Rapidshare (free download).

The original clean guitar audio is from an amp sim shootout that is being conducted on the Reaper forum, and I suggest that you check out that thread for samples of several other guitar amp simulators.

Blue Cat free VST


Blue Cat Audio has a freeware pack of VST and Direct-X plugins.

The free download has a collection of useful effects in a single zipfile. Included are a chorus, flanger, phaser and more. There is also a page of skins so you can customize the appearance of the plugs. Get the Windows audio programs today from Blue Cat Audio.
