SD-1 and TS-808 response

After reading a recent forum post, I got interested in the basic frequency response of the SD-1 compared to the classic TS-808.

I plotted the two pedals in a PSpice simulator to see how they compared. With the tone controls centered, there was a slight difference in gain, due mostly to the bias resistor before the tone control in the TS-808. The bottom end response is unimportant since it is below the lowest guitar note and is minor anyway.

More interesting was the fact that the center of the mid-range peak of the SD-1 was about 100 Hz higher than on the Tube Screamer. This will be less apparent if you turn down the tone knob since the tone networks in both respond in a similar manner and will begin to cutoff the peak.
