One Response to “Why Tubes and Transistors Sound Different”

This article starts from a premise that has never been proven in blinded studies. Much like articles discussing a possible mechanism for Homeopathy, the fact that Homeopathy has never been shown to have any more effect than placebo is ignored. All the mental masturbation about resistors and whatnot, really doesn’t amount to much if you can’t demonstrate that humans actually hear a difference between tubes and transistors. As a stone cold tube fool, I’ve never seen any blinded studies showing I’m not fooling myself. There are also other claims about human hearing made without any reference , that are highly suspect. All the hypothetical twaddle makes for properly distracting toilet reading, but science it ain’t.
