Jack Orman has been involved in FX design and construction since the mid-1970s.
As seen in the case of the optical compressor, the detector section (especially the diode forward voltage if it’s not a precision rectifier and the gain once it’s on) is important, but so is the controlled element and its place in the circuit (ldr, OTA transconductance) allowing a formula of closed loop gain to be expressed.
You are a gentleman and a scholar, thanks for doing this. Super interesting. I love my DOD 280 reissue, cool to know more about it.
